Replacing the Land Rover 4.0 and 4.6 litre engines,models after 2001 adopted the BMW Aluminium 90 degree DOHC V8 with 4 valves per cylinder. Power rose to 282 BHP with Bosch sequential multiport fuel injection, mass airflow sensor and distributorless, 4 knock sensors, dual mode electronic throttle, engine drag torque control & one touch starting.
